2. Second in a Dunk Competition

Ok, so this is my second entry into my blog and I'm on the right track to get my rep up. I was in a streetball competition in the weekend but I wasn't to worried about winning the competition even though I had a pretty stacked team of local ballers, I was more concentrated on the slam dunk comp.

I wasn't sure when it actually started and we had some time to kill so we went and got Burger King so I turned up to the comp eating a double whopper but I was still keen to go in it. I was suprised to see that a well known Highschool player in New Zealand had travelled 2 hours to go in the competition. He had also won the National High School Dunk Competition 2 years in a row so I knew he'd be hard to beat.

He was up first and you had to do 2 dunks he did a Rock-the-Cradle dunk then a bounce-oop dunk which were really clean. I was up last and after all the dunkers had gone, I noticed that no one was making their dunks so I decided I'd do the dunks I knew I could get. So my first dunk was a One Handed 360 and my second was a Two Handed 360 and I had the crowd on my side being 5'7 when he was about 6'1-6'2.

The crowd decided that it was me and him in the finals and since I went last I had to go first this time. I knew this time I needed to do something a bit risky. I did a baseline Windmill that I had been making all day so I thought that was a pretty solid dunk. It was his turn and I knew he'd do something crazy, his dunk was he got his team mate to throw it off the side of the backboard and he caught it and slammed it home. The crowd decided that he won it, I was a bit dissapointed but you win some and you lose some so its all good.

I got a t-shirt, hoodie and $50 and he got a pair of $300 Addidas shoes.

Next year though!
